Description

Messier 83  known as the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy and NGC 5236, is a massive, grand design spiral galaxy approximately 15 million light-years away in the constellation borders of Hydra and Centaurus.  It is one of the closest and brightest (Mag 7.6)  barred spiral galaxies in the sky.
A rare night of good seeing close to the new moon, after the usual weeks of wet weather, was a rare opportunity to revisit this bright and, for me, well placed glorious object. 4 hours of good data in one night. No complaints.
